Marriott Bay Point Resort Village

Marriott Bay Point Resort Village

So much to do, so little time. Located on 1,100 acres within a natural wildlife sanctuary, the 355-room Bay Point Resort has been recognized by Better Homes & Gardens magazine as one of "America’s Favorite Family Resorts." Spend a day or an entire week and you’ll find you’ll want to come back to this piece of paradise over and over again.

The resort offers something for everyone from the sports enthusiast to the vacationing family. While most business travelers still travel alone many are being accompanied by their spouses and children. National research is exploring this growing trend. In a recent survey 55 percent of business travelers indicate they will take their spouse on one or more trips that combine business and pleasure during the next two years.

And nearly three in 10 say they will bring their children on many of those trips. So what would the kids do?

Marriott Bay Point recently created and opened its Village Explorers Kids Camp children’s program - designed for children ages 5 through 12. If parents are tied up in business meetings or simply wanting to get away on their own, the kids can be entertained by the resort’s professional recreation staff with daily activities, games, sports and outings including scavenger hunts, beach combing and sea shell scouting.

Adults are entitled to fun as well. The resort features two championship golf courses, 12 tennis courts, miles of paved pathways for jogging, walking and cycling, and four swimming pools (one heated indoor) complete with muscle-relaxing hot tubs after a tough day of taking it easy.

For the golfing enthusiast – prepare yourself for two course you’ll never forget. The infamous Lagoon Legend named by the U.S.G.A. as the "second most challenging course in the U.S.," is an 18-hole magnet that draws hundreds of top golfers (and those who wish they were) to test the par-72 course. The 6,885-yard Legend has sixteen holes affectionately known as the "Dragon" offering water hazards that require tight shot placements or a good supply of golf balls. The Legend has a slope rating of 152.

The more forgiving Club Meadows is less-menacing but also a formidable foe at a slope rating of just 125. The 6,913-yard par-72 course has been a favorite among southern golfers and others across the nation for over 25 years.

Of course, relaxing is not always catching your breath at the 19th hole.

A 385-yard-long boardwalk leads nature lovers over St. Andrews Bay to Alligator Point where there’s a substantial private beach. Take your shoes off and experience the fine crystal-white sand and deep blue water as you walk along the shore. You may find yourself getting up at dawn to was the sun rise or take a sunset stroll. In either case, you’ll experience the beauty and wonder the natural environment has to offer.

Two other unique aspects to the resort are an original paddle wheeler, the Island Queen, which takes guests around the Grand Lagoon or on a seven-mile trip to secluded Shell Island. The second option is spending a day snorkeling with dolphins. Dolphin excursions offer an opportunity to swim and snorkel with local dolphins for two to three hours. It’s a great way to get to know some of nature’s most intelligent animals and an experience you’ll remember for a lifetime.

Marriott Bay Point Resort can be as exciting or relaxing as you want it to be. Several packages are available to cater to just about anyone, including a "Family Plan", "Honeymoon/Romance Getaway", "Two For Breakfast", "Point Tennis Package", "Ladies Golf Package", an "Escape Package" and many others. The friendly staff are courteous and are ready to offer assistance to make your vacation or business trip one that you’ll never forget.

Marriott Bay Point Resort Village is located at 4200 Marriott Drive, Panama City Beach, Florida, on a peninsula bordered by the Grand lagoon on the south and St. Andrews Bay to the north and east. The Resort lies 40 miles south of Interstate 10 via interstate highways 98, 231, 331 or 79.
