  • Atria Halcyon, a recently-opened Assisted Living Facility in Montgomery, offers four levels of care ranging from minimal support to full "hands-on" assistance.
    • Supportive Living offers a range of services from full meals and housekeeping to scheduled transportation and is designed for residents who need minimal assistance, but prefer the security and social environment a facility community affords.
    • Enhanced Living is available for residents whose ability to manage on their own has diminished, but who do not require around the clock assistance.
    • On the Comprehensive Care level, close monitoring and full support in all areas of activity are provided. Enrichment Support offers special programs and intensive activity monitoring for seniors who have Alzheimer's or similar restrictive conditions requiring custom-designed assistance to enhance their quality of life.
  • At Atria Halcyon, the building and grounds have been designed with safety and security as a priority, enhancing the home-like atmosphere of the well-appointed rooms and social areas. If you are interested in touring the new Atria facility on Halcyon Blvd. in Montgomery, call (334) 396-1111.
  • Everybody gets a 10% discount on wine purchases every TUESDAY at Derk's Filet & Vine. Neat place to have breakfast or a late morning nosh before the lunch crowd surges in. 431 Cloverdale Road is the location of this popular wine & deli. (334) 262-8463.

  • Want to save on decorating? Organize a drapes, curtains and household decor swap day with a like-minded group of friends or club members. Fun-and thrifty, too.

  • Looking for a furry companion? Seniors get to adopt a pet for free at the SPCA! Yes, pups and kittens are adorably cute, but don't shy away from mature dogs and cats: they have a lot of love and devotion to offer...and you don't have to suffer through chewed-up shoes, frayed drapes or house-training.

  • When you shop for prescriptions at any CVS drug store, speak up and tell them you're a senior: gets you a 10% discount. Worth being carded...(Of course you don't look your age! WE knew that!)
