There'll be a hot time in the town of Montgomery...
on Memorial Day Weekend-the 28th, 29th and 30th of May!
Jubilee CityFest has lined up more than 60 bands and non-stop entertainment for the
whole family. Kids will love all the action at KIDSFEST: a 100,000 sq.ft indoor/outdoor
interactive playground. Grownups and kids will have a chance to meet Astronaut Jan N.
Davis, an Alabamian from the Johnson Space Center in Houston.
Other space-oriented fun will include a tasting of Astronaut Ice Cream and an
opportunity to try on an actual spacesuit. It is not expected that children will head for
other planets or hitch a ride on one of the 1000 decorated rockets displayed at the Civic
Center. Stage shows, races, competitions and Army exhibits will keep the kids busy, and
Home Depot's Wonder Robot will undoubtedly show up on Christmas Wish-lists for the next 10
years. For children with a build-it bent, Box City will be back again to help kids create
an architectural masterpiece. The kid in each of us will certainly find a lot to enjoy at
Kidsfest.
Keeping the action going, a line-up of over 65 bands and performers will include: Gap
Band, Mya, the MSO, Jagged Edge, John Michael Montgomery-the list goes on and on.
Performers will offer every type of music from Rock to R&B to Country to classical: it
will all be here, in Montgomery, the last weekend in May. Food, crafts, art, exhibits, a
state championship 5-K run-and it will all be happening right in your own backyard. Get a
group of 24 together and celebrate with weekend passes for only $17 apiece. A real
bargain, considering daily passes are $15.
