Happy Birthday Alabama Prime Times!
This issue marks our second anniversary. Two years ago, Kim and Randy Smith recognized that there was no publication in central Alabama serving the needs of seniors, retirees, wannabe retirees and "Baby Boomers." This need sparked the concept for The Central Alabama Prime Times, our first moniker.
In September 1998, we (TEAM Support) purchased the magazine. The transfer was completed just in time, because by December, the Air Force had transferred the Smiths to Las Vegas. They are still with us in spirit (and by phone and email). We asked Randy to write a little something to commemorate this occasion. His remembrance, The Birth of a Magazine, is available on our web site at www.primetimes.com.
Margaret Meier and Janet Adams took the helm and redesigned the look and feel of Alabama Prime Times without changing the spirit. Janet retired in May after a job well done. We will introduce our new editor with the September issue.
From humble beginnings, we have grown to a statewide monthly magazine with a polished glossy cover and good reading enjoyed by thousands of Alabama readers. We plan to keep getting better.
